Question : REALISATION OF BRITISH POSTAL ORDERS



(a) the amount of British Postal Orders lying at various P.O`s in India, which have not been sent to the respective P.A.O`s for realisation of paid vouchers during the last three years;

(b) the resultant loss accrued; and

(c) the steps being taken to recover the dues?

(a) The amount of British Postal Orders lying at various Post Offices in India, which have not been sent to the respective Postal Accounts Offices for realisation of paid vouchers during the last three years is as follows.

(b) There is no loss because as and when the paid British Postal Orders are sent to British Postal Administration, the same are reimbursed to India Post.

(c) The non-submission of BPOs Paid vouchers to Postal Accounts Offices by Head Post Offices is actively monitored by the Postal Directorate by issue of suitable instructions to Head of Circles for sending the wanting vouchers to Postal Accounts Offices and expeditiously deal with the matter for reimbursement from British Postal Administration.
