(a) whether target dates were fixed for completion of irrigation projects in Orissa during the Ninth Five Year Plan;
(b) if so, the names and the number of projects;
(c) whether any of these projects have been completed as per
schedule;
(d) if not, the reasons therefor; and
(e) the time by when the projects are likely to be completed?

(a) to (e) The details of ongoing major/medium irrigation
projects of Orissa identified by the Ministry of Water Resources
for completion during IX plan are given in the statement enclosed.
The main reasons for delay in completion of these irrigation
projects are paucity of funds and delay in land acquisition.
