Question : Registration of Drone Players

(a) whether the Government has started the registration of private drone players in the country and if so, the details of number of private drone operators registered so far, State/UT-wise;

(b) whether the Government has any plan to extend the deadline of registration of drone players in the country, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor;

(c) whether the Government has developed any mechanism to bard illegal firm/entity to register as licensed drone operator; and

(d) whether the Government has prepared any plan to cross check the genuineness of the registered drone operators on the regular intervals, if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

a) In order to facilitate the identification of civil drones and drone operators, a one-time opportunity for voluntary disclosure of civil drones and drone operators had been provided. The details of number of drone operators registered so far, State/UT-wise is at Annexure.

(b) No Sir, at present there is no such proposal.

(c) & (d) As per the current Civil Aviation Rules and regulations, there are detailed procedures for evaluation of every applicant for drone operators license.
