Question : GANGAVARAM KAKINADA SEA PORT PROJECT



(a) the stage at which the Gangavaram sea port project and Kakinada International sea port project at present;

(b) whether the Government have any plan to expedite these projects;

(c) if so, the funds allocated for these projects, project-wise; and

(d) the time by which these projects are likely to be completed?

(a) to (d) : Gangavaram and Kakinada are minor ports in Andhra Pradesh and as per the provisions of Indian Ports Act, 1908, the responsibility for construction/development of minor ports lies entirely with the State Government concerned.
