Question : AMENDMENT IN IMMORAL TRAFFIC PREVENTION ACT



(a) whether the Government proposes some amendment in the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956;

(b) if so, whether his Ministry has received comments from all the concerned Ministries/Departments/Group of Ministers in this regard;

(c) if so, the details of the comments received so far; and

(d) the present status of the said proposal as on date?

(a) Yes, Sir.

(b)&(c) The amendment in the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 has been prepared after receiving comments from all the concerned Ministries/Departments/Group of Ministers. The Cabinet has approved the amendments after taking into account the comments received from various authorities.

(d) The Bill is likely to be introduced in the Parliament shortly.
