Question : Subsidy to Pilgrims of Char Dham Yatra

(a) whether the Government is considering to provide subsidy to pilgrims of char dham yatra in Uttarakhand to promote tourism;
(b) whether the Government has provided any special assistance to promote tourism in Uttarakhand in view of devastation in recent years;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(b) & (c): Ministry of Tourism sanctioned 11 projects to the State Government of Uttarakhand for Rs.7254.98 lakh in the year 2013-14. Details are given at Annexure.
