(a) whether the Government Phouids proposes to provide housing facility under the Indira Awas Yojana to those people whose houses destroyed due to fire, floods or any other natural calamity;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the number of people to whom housing facility has been provided and the funds allocated and spent on the same after these kind of incidents during the last three years and the current year; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefore and the reaction of the Government thereto

(a)to(c): As per Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) Guidelines, 5% of IAY funds are earmarked for construction of houses damaged due to natural calamities with a State-wise ceiling of 10% of annual allocation (including State share). In case of occurrence of calamities in any part of a State, funds undei this component of IAY are made available to those districts with the limit of 50% of the normal annual allocation for each district subject to a ceiling of 10% of the State`s annual allocation. As per the requests received from the State Governments for providing assistance to people affected by natural calamities, financial assistance is provided for construction of houses. A statement showing State-wise details of funds released under 5% of IAY during the last three years and current year is given at Annexure.
