(d) No, Madam.
(e) Does not arise.
(f) Indian bovine meat and meat products are not allowed entry into the Chinese market on grounds of prevalence of Food-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) in India. The ban was imposed in 1990 by China because of the incidence of Cattle Plague (Rinderpest) and FMD in India. India conveyed to the Chinese Authorities that Rinderpest has been completely eradicated as per OIE resolution in 1995. However, China did not accept Indias status as Rinderpest-free country till January 2012. On persistent efforts from India, China and India entered into an MOU for export of buffalo meat directly to China in May,2013. On completion of other codal formalities like inspectioin of meat processing plants by the Chinese regulator i.e.General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) etc. the Indian export of buffalo meat to China is likely to commence.
