FUNDS FOR DISPENSATION OF SOCIAL JUSTICE
1213. DR. UMESH G. JADHAV:
Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the funds allocated by the Ministry specifically for improving the dispensation of social justice in the country during the last three years;
(b) the amount of funds utilized in this regard during the said period;
(c) whether any review has been undertaken by the Government to know the utility of its schemes, plans and programmes during the said period; and
(d) if so, the details and outcome thereof?

(a) to (d): The mandate of this Department is to implement the schemes of educational, economic and social empowerment of Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Senior Citizens, victims of Drug Abuse, Transgender, Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNTs). The details of fund allocated during last three years are as below:

For the successful implementation of the Schemes Government undertakes steps like mandatory annual inspections by District Authorities, scrutiny of proposals by multidisciplinary State Level Grants-in-aid Committee, mandatory submission of audited statement of accounts and utilization Certificate and periodic review by holding meetings at national level, state level, district level and field visits. The Department also undertakes periodic review of the implementation of the schemes through third party evaluation studies. The studies have found that these schemes are achieving desired objectives and have recommended their continuation.
