Question : VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRES FOR WOMEN

(a) the number of regional vocational training centres for women established in the country, State-wise;

(b) whether the Government proposes a Regional Vocational Training Centre for women for more States including the newly established State of Telangana; and

(c) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) IN THE MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP (SHRI RAJIV PRATAP RUDY)

(a) At present, one National Vocational Training Institute for Women at Noida (Uttar Pradesh) and 10 Regional Vocational Training Institute for Women are imparting vocational training exclusively to women in the following States:-

(b) to (c) The Government has approved to set up 08 more Regional Vocational Training Institutes (RVTIs) particularly for women under Central Sector in the States of Punjab, Himanchal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Bihar, Goa, Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir. At present, there is no proposal to establish Regional Vocational Training Institute in the State of Telangana.
