Question : CONSERVATION OF THREATENED BREED



(a) the outlay earmarked for conservation of threatened breed of small Ruminants, Pigs, Pack Animals, Equine and Yak during the Eleventh Five Year Plan period;

(b) the details of funds allocated during the above period, State-wise;

(c) whether Government has fixed any target to achieve the desired objectives; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the results achieved there in so far?

(a)to (b) 11th Plan Outlay for the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Conservation of Threatened Breeds of Small Ruminants, Pigs, Pack Animals, Equine and Yak during the 11th Five Year Plan was ` Rs. 16.00 crore which was enhanced to `Rs. 45.00 crore during 2008-09 and the scheme renamed “Conservation of Threatened Breeds of Livestock”. Details of funds released during the 11th Five Year Plan to various States are given in Annexure-I.
(c ) to (d) Year wise Targets and Achievements under the scheme during the 11th Five Year Plan are given in Annexure –II.
