(a) whether the Government is organizing any training programmes under ‘Initiatives of National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development’ (NIESBUD) for migrants workers;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise; and
(c) the numbers of beneficiaries who have availed training through NIESBUD, State-wise?
(a) and (b): National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), an autonomous body under the MSDE, has not organized any training programme specifically for migrant workers. The Institute undertakes activities related to Training of Trainers (ToT), Management Development Programmes (MDP) and Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programmes.
However, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has facilitated training of reverse migrants under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) (2016-20) in 116 districts of 6 States, namely Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. Under the programme, a target of 3 lakh candidates (1.5 lakh each for Short Term Training and Recognition of Prior Learning) has been allocated to 116 districts of 6 States.
(c): During the financial year 2019-20, a total of 939 training programmes for 33,796 participants have been organized by NIESBUD. The state-wise break-up is given at Annexure.
