Question : Treatment Facility to Insured Persons

(a)whether the Government has initiated action for providing treatment facility to the insured persons in the ESI Medical College transferred to State Governments and if so, the details thereof;
(b)whether the Government of Kerala has made arrangements in Paripally ESI Medical College/Kollam Government Medical College for treatment of insured persons as per the ESI Scheme and if so, the details thereof;
(c)whether ESIC proposes to give direction to the Government of Kerala to make arrangement in ESIC Medical College Paripally/Government Medical College Kollam for providing special block for ESIC insured persons and if so, the details thereof; and
(d)the details of action taken by the Union Government and ESIC for ensuring the condition stipulated in MoU for providing facility to the insured persons in ESI Medical College Paripally?

(a): In order to provide treatment facilities to the Insured Persons (IPs) from Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Medical College at Paripally, which was transferred to State Government of Kerala, the ESI Corporation signed an MoU with State Government as per which the State Government provides medical services to ESI beneficiaries consistent with those provided under the ESI Scheme, on cashless basis.
(b): The Government of Kerala has made arrangements in Paripally ESI Medical College/ Kollam Government Medical College for treatment of IPs as per the ESI Scheme.
(c) & (d): In accordance with the provision of MoU, ESIC has taken up the matter with the Government of Kerala requesting them to ensure that cashless services are provided to ESI beneficiaries. As such, no request for a special block for ESIC Insured Persons has been made.
