(a) One School-One Sport policy is an initiative undertaken by the Ministry of Defence for Sainik Schools located across the country so that they can focus on at least one sporting discipline identified for the respective State/UT.

Under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, the concept of One State One Game (OSOG) has been designed keeping in mind India’s preparedness in achieving excellence in Olympics 2024 and beyond. The long-term plan is aimed at making each State or Union Territory (UT) proficient in 2-3 sports disciplines in which it possesses a special aptitude for winning an Olympics medal and wherein the Central Government could provide support for soft components such as coaching, sports science equipment, sports equipment, support staff, etc. The principle of OSOG has been aligned with the setting-up of Khelo India State Centres of Excellence (KISCE) in all States/UTs, where sports-specific support, sports science support and necessary technical handholding are provided to such Centres.

(b) For OSOG, the Government has finalised the State/UT-wise list of disciplines which have been recommended by the respective States/UTs as detailed at Annexure.

(c) Since the long-term vision is to develop excellence in Olympics, 14 priority Olympics disciplines have been identified out which the respective States/UTs have identified 03 priority disciplines for further development as per Annexure.

(d) The game of cricket has not been included under OSOG.

(e) Funding is provided to States/UTs to engage high-quality manpower, like Head Coaches and High-Performance Directors. Accomplished sportspersons meeting the eligibility criteria are considered for such positions.
