Question : INTEGRATED INTER-STATE TOURIST ROUTE IN NORTH EAST



referring to the reply given to Unstarred Question No.2982 dated December 22, 2003 and state:

(a) whether an integrated Inter-State tourist route for tourists in the North-East has since been developed;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the extent to which the tourist traffic in the region has improved as a result thereof in recent months?

(a): There is no proposal for setting up a Inter-State tourist route in the North-Eastern Region. For Development and Promotion of tourism in the Region, a North-East Circuit

(Eco-Tourism Circuit) has been identified for development as under: Shillong-Guwahati-Kaziranga-Tezpur-Bhalakpung-Tawang-Majuli-Sibsagar-Kohima.

(b) & (c): Question does not arise.
