(a)to(c): State-wise present status of various Port Development projects for last three years is given at Annexure-I.
(d) Expansion and upgradation work have been carried out in all Major Ports including those in the State of Tamil Nadu.
(e) Annual target for implementation of port development projects is fixed and the progress is reviewed periodically. Due to close monitoring, targets fixed were achieved successfully during the last three years.
(f) Yes, Madam. Government of India has received a proposal from Government of Kerala for seeking financial support for the upgradation of Azhikkal Port with the project cost of Rs.496 crore. The proposal has been technically appraised by the Ministry of Shipping and Government of Kerala was requested to furnish some additional information alongwith revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) for further consideration. Response from Government of Kerala has not been received.
