(a) & (b): The all India weighted average cost of production of wheat, which
includes cost of all inputs, has been estimated by the Commission for Agricultural
Costs and Prices (CACP) for 2010-11 and 2011-12 at Rs. 826 and Rs. 927 per quintal
respectively. The all India weighted average cost of production of paddy (rice) for the
two years has been estimated by the CACP at Rs. 742 and Rs. 888 per quintal
respectively.
(c) & (d): Under the Cost of Cultivation Scheme, estimates of cost of
production/cultivation are generated on the basis of field data collected from selected
farmers. Based on this, the data of the actual cost of production are available after a
gap of about two years.
