Question : Inclusion of Pilgrimage Sites of Mithila Region under PRASAD Scheme

(a) whether Shyama Mandir Darbhanga, Nawada Bhagwati Sthan and Baba Kusheshwar Sthan Darbhanga are ancient historical religious pilgrimage sites of Mithila region;
(b) whether new employment opportunities are to be created and tourism is likely to be developed by including such pilgrimage places under the PRASAD scheme and developing them as tourist places;
(c) whether the Government proposes to include the said pilgrimage sites in the PRASAD scheme for the promotion and protection of the said pilgrimage sites; and
(d) if so, the time by which the said pilgrimage sites are likely to be included in the PRASAD scheme and the details thereof?

(a) to (d): Ministry of Tourism has not received any proposal from the State Government of Bihar for development of pilgrimage Tourism infrastructure under its PRASHAD Scheme at Shyama Mandir Darbhanga, Nawada Bhagwati Sthan and Baba Kusheshwar Sthan Darbhanga in Mithila region of the State. Under PRASHAD scheme of Ministry projects are selected on receipt of suitable requests/project proposals from the willing State Governments/Union Territory Administrations in line with the scheme Guidelines.
