Question : Higher Educational Institutions in Karnataka

(a) the funds sanctioned and released during 2017-18 for Higher Educational Institutions set up in
Karnataka;
(b) the allocations made during the last three years and the details of expenditure incurred so far,
institution-wise;
(c) the details of total funds required for each of the institutions and money sanctioned this year
and earlier years, year-wise and institution-wise; and
(d) by when all the institutions would be moved to their permanent campuses and the status of
setting up of permanent campuses of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Dharwad,
Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Raichur and IIT, Dharwad from the existing
temporary/transit campuses?

(a): The fund sanctioned and fund released/ expenditure during the year 2017-18 for Central
Higher Educational Institutions set up in Karnataka are Rs. 827.94 Crores and Rs. 832.83 Crores
respectively.
(b) and (c): The institute-wise details are Annexed.
(d): The work for construction of permanent campus for IIT Dharwad will start in first week
of February, 2020. For IIIT Dharwad, construction work is going on. For IIIT Raichur,
construction of permanent campus has not yet started.
