(a) & (b): In order to achieve the target of “Housing for All” in rural areas, the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India is implementing Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana- Gramin (PMAY-G) with effect from 1st April 2016 to provide assistance to eligible rural households with overall target to construct 2.95 crore pucca houses with basic amenities by March, 2024. Under PMAY-G, the beneficiaries are identified from Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 database and Awaas+ survey 2018 conducted through the States/UTs.
A total target of 15.05 lakh houses have been allocated to Maharashtra State since inception of PMAY-G, out of which only 10.54 lakh houses have been sanctioned to beneficiaries by the state and 7.82 lakh houses stand completed as on 17.03.2022.
