(a) National Skill Development Fund (NSDF) was incorporated on 23rd December, 2008 as a trust under the Indian Trust Act, 1882. Its main objective is to enhance, stimulate and develop the skills of Indian youth force by various sector specific programmes. The Trust accepts donation, contribution in cash or kind from the Contributors for furtherance of these objectives.
The funds received in NSDF in the last five years (i.e. 2017-22) is Rs. 368.22 crore including Rs. 101.97 Cr. received as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds from Private / PSU donors. Under NSDF, there is no provision of State / UT specific contribution or allocation.
(b) and (c) NSDF, in last five years (i.e. 2017-22), has disbursed funds amounting to Rs. 581.01 crore (including funds received in previous financial years) to National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for the implementation of schemes of other Ministries (as per guidelines) and projects of PSUs/Private donors (as per agreements / Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs)).
(d) Under Skill India Mission, the Government through 20 Central Ministries/Departments is implementing various skill development schemes across the country.
Major skill development training schemes/programmes being implemented by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship across the country including State of Kerala are Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) and Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS). Under PMKVY, JSS, NAPS and CTS, as on 30.06.2022, around 5.58 lakh candidates have been trained / enrolled in the State of Kerala. Details are given below (as on 30.06.2022):
