Question : New Steel Plants

(a) whether the Government proposes to set up new Steel plants with private players on PSU lands in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the progress made in this regard so far, plant-wise;

(c) whether the Government proposes to establish a Pellet Plant in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in collaboration with Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd. (KIOCL) and an MoU has been entered into in start this Joint Venture; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) There is no proposal.

(b) Does not arise, in view of (a) above.

(c)&(d): KIOCL and RINL, Central Public Sector Enterprises, have signed an MoU for setting up of a Pellet Plant at Visakhapatnam on JV Basis.
