Question : SCHEMES FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES



(a) the details of the schemes being implemented in Maharashtra for providing education to children with disabilities;

(b) the location/schools where such children are provided education;

(c) the funds sanctioned/released by the Government for the said purpose during each of the last three years and the current year;

(d) whether there is delay on the part of the Government in sanctioning proposals for the said schemes; and

(e) if so, the details thereof along with the details of pending proposals and the corrective steps being taken in this regard?

Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment (SHRI SUDARSHAN BHAGAT)

(a) The Government is implementing Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS) under which the Central Government has been providing grant in aid to NGOs, including Maharashtra for providing education to children with disabilities.

(b) the details of location/schools in Maharashtra where such children are provided education is at Annexure-I.

(c) the details of funds sanctioned/released by the Government for the said purpose in Maharashtra during the last three years and the current year is at Annexure-II.

(d) & (e) No, Sir. Proposals, complete in all respects, received in a financial year are processed for grant during the year. However, in case of deficiency in documents, if any, the grant is released only after rectification of the deficiency.
