(a) Whether the Union Government has received any proposal from the
Government of Madhya Pradesh for financial assistance for upgradation
and development of Devi Ahilyabai Museums at Maheshwar and Khargon;
(b) If so, the details thereof; and
(c) The action taken by the Government threreon ?

(a) to (c): The proposal was received in this Ministry during 2004-05 and was
placed before the Expert Committee constituted under the scheme of ‘Promotion
and Strengthening of Regional and Local Museums’ in its meeting held on 25.11.2004.
The Expert Committee did not recommend the proposal, as the construction of a new
Museum is not covered under the scheme.
