(a) whether the Government proposes to include fats and oil products under the Public Distri- bution System (PDS) for the people belonging to Below Poverty Line category to improve their nutrition level;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): No, Madam. The Government has no such proposal
(b): Does not arise
(c): In order to provide relief to consumers espe- cially BPL households, a scheme for distribution of subsidized imported oils through State Gover- nments/UT Administrations was implemented from March, 2008 till September 2013. The scheme was closed due to poor response from the states.
