Question : FOOD ADULTERATION



(a) whether food adulteration is rampant in the city despite the food samples being picked up by the Food Inspectors;

(b) if so, the reasons therefor alongwith the number of samples picked up by them during the last three years;

(c) the total number of Food Inspectors required alongwith the current strength;

(d) the number of cases where samples were found to be adulterated also indicating the commodities concerned;

(e) the reasons for failure to pick adequate number of samples by Food Inspectors for proper assessment; and

(f) the action taken by the Government where the samples were found to be adulterated?
