Question : INTER STATE MIGRANT WORKERS

(a) the number of companies/organisations/ establishments which have registered them selves in various States to employ inter-State migrant workers;

(b) the number of contractors given licence for this purpose;

(c) the number of instances wherein the Government has detected violation of provisions in the Inter- State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Servic

(e) Act, 1979 and the Rules thereunder during the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise; and

(d) whether the Government has any proposal to increase surveillance/ inspections so as to deter such violations and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): The number of companies/organizations/ establishments which have registered themselves in various States to employ inter-state migrant workers in the Central Sphere is 243.

(b): Number of licensed contractor in the Central Sphere is 613.

(c): The information relating to instances of violation of provisions in the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment & Conditions of Service) Act, 1979 is not maintained state/Union Territory-wise. The number of violations detected in the Central Sphere establishments during the last three years is as under:
