Question : Increase in MPLAD Fund

(a) whether the Government proposes to enhance the funds under MPLAD Scheme which is 5 crore rupees and is a very low amount as compared MLA funds of rupees 10 crore in Delhi, Rs. 2 crore in Uttar Pradesh and so on in other States;

(b) whether it is also a fact that there are five Assembly Constituencies in Bijnore Parliamentary Constituency and each Assembly Constituency gets only rupees 1 crore from the MPLAD fund and it is very meagre amount as compared to the MLA fund; and

(c) if so, the time by when this scheme is likely to be implemented?

(a) to (c) There is no proposal under consideration of the Government to increase the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) funds at present. The Members of Legislative Assembly Local Area Development (MLA LAD) funds is under the domain of State/UT Government and may vary across states.
