Question : Apparel Export


(a) whether the Apparel exports have dropped by 5 per cent from the previous fiscal year i.e. from Rs. 93745 crores to Rs. 88709 crores, if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the decline in the exports has been due to the financial crunch for non-payment of Rebate of State Levies (RoSL) by the Centre from last July onwards to the tune of Rs. 2000 crores affecting 55 per cent of the Apparel exporters, if so, the details thereof; and

(c) whether the Government will look into the matter and ensure the settlement of the dues to the Apparel exporters at the earliest, if so, the plan of action thereof?

(a) No Sir. As per the data of Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics, export of apparel has increased by 5% from Rs 107,644 crore in 2017-18 to Rs 112,701 crore in 2018-19.

(b) & (c) Do not arise.
