(a) the status of Small Scale Industries (SSIs) in creating employment opportunities and revenue earnings;

(b) the status of policy formulated for the development of Small Scale Industries; and

(c) the details of funds released and utilised under various schemes for MSME Sector in the country including Uttar Pradesh during the last two years?

(a): As per 73rd Round of NSS (National Sample Survey) Report on Unincorporated Non-Agricultural enterprises, (June 2015-June 2016) conducted by Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, estimated number of workers in Micro, Small & Medium sector was 11.10 crore. As reported by National Statistical Office (NSO), the share of MSMEs in total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) during 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 was 29.5%, 29.3%, 29.7% and 30.3% respectively.

(b): Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act has necessary provisions for promotion & development of MSMEs.

(c): The details of funds allocated & utilized under various Schemes/Programmes of the Ministry, during the last two years are annexed.
