Question : Oil Refineries and Petrochemicals Ltd. Project

(a) whether the Government is in the process of setting up of Oil Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. Project in Ratnagiri in Maharashtra under Public and Private Partnership, if so, the details thereof;
(b) the total number of companies both Public and Private included in the project, name-wise and share-wise; and
(c) the time by which the project will be commissioned?

(a) to (c) Oil PSUs namely Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have decided to set up an integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex having refining capacity of 60 MMTPA (million metric tonnes per annum) with equity participation in the ratio of 50:25:25, at Babulwadi, Taluka Rajapur in Ratnagiri District in the state of Maharashtra. The proposed Refinery site has been identified by Oil PSUs in consultation with Government of Maharashtra (GoM). However, GoM vide Notification dated 02.03.2019 has withdrawn the earlier Notification dated 18.05.2017 for acquisition of land for the refinery-cum-petrochemical project.
