Question : LPG BOTTLING PLANTS .



(a) the L.P.G. bottling plants set up in the country during the period 1997-98, 1998-99 and 1999-2000, State-wise ;

(b) the details of the demand and supply met by the respective L.P.G. bottling plant during the above period ; (

(c) the demand of L.P.G. gas cylinders in the country at present ; and

(d) the time by which the Government is likely to meet the demand of gas cylinders ?

(a) to (d) : The L.P.G. bottling plants set up in the country during the period 1997-98, 1998-99 and 1999-2000, State-wise, are given in Annexure-I.

As on 1.4.2000, the total installed bottling capacity in the country with Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies was 4670 TMTPA. The actual packed LPG sales by PSU Oil Companies during the year 1999-2000 was about 5.73 million tonnes

Government has a plan to release 1 crore LPG connections during the current year which will liquidate the waiting list of about 93 lakhs existing with the LPG distributors as on 1.12.1999.
