Question : UTILISATIOIN OF ROAD TAX FOR DEVELOPMENT OF HISTORIC SITES



(a) whether the Government has utilised the revenue received from the road tax fund as well as income received from entry fee of monuments for development of all historical tourist sites particularly Fatehpur Sikri and Taj Mahal; and

(b) if so, the State-wise details of the amount spent for the development of these sites during the last five years?

(a) No, Madam. The revenue collected by the Archaeological Survey of India from the entry fee at the centrally protected ticketed monuments of the Archaeological Survey of India is remitted into the Government account in the Consolidated Fund of India. This is in accordance with the Central Government Account (Receipts and Payments) Rules.

(b) Does not arise.
