Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government proposes to set up new fertilizers plants for manufacturing urea and other fertilizers in a number of States including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Bihar;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the time by which such plants are likely to be set up

(a) to (c): No Sir, the Government of India has no such proposal at present. However, Government of India has mandated revival of (i) Ramagundam unit to Joint Venture Company (JVC) named Ramagundam Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (RFCL) incorporated on 17.02.2015, (ii) Talcher unit to JVC named Talcher Fertilizers Limited (TFL) incorporated on 27.10.2015 and (iii) Gorakhpur, Sindri and Barauni units to JVC named Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) incorporated on 16.05.2016. RFCL and HURL, Gorakhpur plants have already been commissioned on 22.03.2021 and 07.12.2021 respectively. HURL, Barauni & Sindri plants are likely to be commissioned in March, 2022 whereas TFL in September, 2023.
Further, Cabinet in its meeting held on 21.05.2015 inter-alia approved setting up of New urea plant of 8.646 LMTPA capacity in the existing premises of BVFCL, which has been notified by Department of Fertilizers vide
