(a) to (c) The projects/scheme''s pertaining to various sectors viz. water resources, irrigation, desiltation, river cleaning,
water conservation and management, etc. during the current plan period are as follows:-

50 project proposals of Major/Medium Irrigation (MMI) and Extension, Renovation and Modernization (ERM) have been
accepted by the Technical Advisory Committee of this Ministry (Annexure-I).The list of pending irrigation projects
under appraisal is at Annexure-IA& IB for new and revisedprojects respectively.
Empowered Committee (EC) of this Ministry has included 1342 water bodies under Repair, Renovation & Restoration of
Water Bodies for restoration of water bodies costing Rs.1013.430crore in 2014-15& 2015-16 and Rs.103.49crore has been
released (Annexure-II).There is no pending proposal under RRR of Water Bodies forconsideration in Empowered
Committee in this Ministry.
16 schemes has been sanctioned during the 2014-15 & 2015-16 (Till 23.07.2015) for river cleaning and 13 schemes have
been appraised and pending for sanction (Annexure-III).
3317 projects Minor Irrigation Schemes have also been included under AIBP and Rs. 238.332crore has been released
(Annexure-IV).The list of pending Surface Minor irrigation schemes is at Annexure-IVA.
45 projects of CADWM have been included under Command Area Development (CADWM) and Water Management
Programme and Rs. 214.06crore has been released (Annexure-V).The list of pending CADWM projects is at Annexure-
VA.
Some of these proposals have been pending due to technical and procedural deficiencies.
(d) Completion of projects may be delayed due to various reasons including land acquisition, Resettlement and
Rehabilitation of the affected population, litigation on the projects in the courts, geological surprises in the foundations,
paucity of funds etc.
Government of India has prioritized 46 ongoing projects under AIBP for their timely completion by removing various
bottlenecks.
