Question : Facilitation of Passengers at Airport

a) whether it is true that Hyderabad has been identified by the Government for seamless, hassle-free and paperless facilitation of passengers at airport;
b) if so, the details thereof;
c) the difference between Digi Yatra and Biometric Boarding System proposed to be used for this purpose; and
d) the time by which the above facilities will be implemented on regular basis at Hyderabad airport?

(a) & (b) Yes Sir. BCAS had identified Hyderabad Airport as a model airport to try an E-Boarding facility to enable a paperless, seamless journey for the passengers. Hyderabad airport has initiated RFP for deploying Digi Yatra platform /facilities.

(c) Digi Yatra enhances the current E-Boarding (Bio-metric Boarding) facility by incorporating a centralized face recognition platform, where passengers can enroll and use the facility across the airports. Bio-metric Boarding System uses face bio-metrics as a single token for validation of Identity of the passenger.

(d) GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited, a Joint Venture company, has set up a timeline of 2022 for implementation of Digi Yatra at Hyderabad Airport.
