(a) to (c) Yes Sir. The stipend paid to the trade apprentices have been linked with the minimum wages of semi-skilled workers applicable in the respective State where the establishments are located. The details are provided below in the table. This stipend is payable to the apprentices during their apprenticeship training period as defined under the Apprentices Act, 1961 (amended 2014).
Minimum stipend to be paid to the apprentices 1st Year 70% of minimum wage of semi-skilled workers notified by the respective State or Union territory
2nd Year 80% of minimum wage of semi-skilled workers notified by the respective State or Union territory
3rd Year 90% of minimum wage of semi-skilled workers notified by the respective State or Union territory.
(d) The stipend payable for the technician apprentices engaged after having completed their Diploma is INR 3542 per month and for Graduate apprentices in various engineering disciplines is INR 4984.
(e) The comparison between the stipend drawn by the apprentices who have completed their Industrial Training Institute (ITI) trades after X class and the Graduate or Diploma engineers engaged in apprentices is given in the table below:
