(a) to (e): Prasar Bharati is currently having total 590 transmitters functioning across the country. Additionally, 23 digital High Power Transmitters (HPTs) are functional in 19 cities. State/UT-wise list of above High Power Transmitters (HPTs) / Low Power Transmitters (LPTs) / Very Low Power Transmitters (VLPTs) is given at Annexure-I.
During 12th Five Year Plan, 24 new HPTs were targeted and installed. List of these HPTs, state- wise and location-wise is given at Annexure-II.
Under the “Broadcasting Development and Network Development” scheme extended from the 12th Plan, w.e.f. 2017-2020, which was further extended till 2020-21, the following HPTs have been approved for installation in Border areas of the country at the following locations.

With the success of DD FreeDish Direct to Home (DTH) the Analog Terrestrial TV Transmitters have become obsolete and are being phased out by Prasar Bharati. DTH Platform provides Doordarshan channels, AIR channels alongwith many private TV and FM channels throughout the country.
