(a) whether the Government proposes to shut down the Doordarshan Kendra of Banka;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the broadcast of various educational, entertainment and knowledge based programmes are likely to be adversely impacted in the said areas after closure of the Doordarshan Kendra; and
(d) if so, the reaction of the Government thereto?

(a) to (d): Prasar Bharati has informed that one analog Low Power Transmitter (LPT) is functioning at Banka, as Doordarshan Relay Centre. At present, there is no proposal to shut down LPT of Banka.
