Question : UPGRADATION OF HIGHWAYS IN MAHARASHTRA



(a) the names of the National Highways/State Highways in Maharashtra which are being converted into four, six and eight-lanes; and

(b) the names of the new approved National Highways in the State alongwith the total kilometres of road under construction?

(a) This Ministry is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of National Highways and the State Roads are the responsibility of the respective State Governments. The details of National Highways being converted into four/six lane in the State of Maharashtra are enclosed as Annex-1.

(b) During 11th Five Year Plan, about 13km. length of SH-250 in the State of Maharashtra has been notified as National Highway No. 26B on 21st January, 2010. Four/six laning in a length of 1079 km has been completed and work is in progress in 846 km under various phases of NHDP.
