Question : STOPPAGE OF FOODGRAIN EXPORT DUE TO DROUGHT

(a) the total export of foodgrains of the country during the last financial year;

(b) whether the Government propose to stop foodgrain export in the wake of the prevailing drought situation in the country;

(c) if so, when a final decision in this regard is likely to be taken; and

(d) the other details in this regard?

(a): The total foodgrains lifted by the exorters from Food Corporation of India (FCI) for export during the year 2001-02 is 59.30 lakh MT.
