(a) Whether the Union Government has received any proposal in the recent past to establish Internet Exchanges
in the Country including Gujarat;
(b) If so, the details thereof alongwith the present status of the proposal: and
(c) The time by which a final decision is likely to be taken in this regard?

STATEMENT REFERRED TO IN REPLY TO LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION No. 39 FOR 20-10-2008 REGARDING ESTABLISHMENT OF INTERNET EXCHANGES
(a) : Yes, Sir.
(b) : Government has received requests from some States including Gujarat to establish Internet Exchanges. Presently
Internet Exchanges are operational at Delhi (Noida), Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad.
(c) : The Internet Exchange has been established at Ahmedabad and is operational from 1st October 2008.
