Question : SETTING UP OF IIT RESEARCH PARK

(a) whether the Government propose to set up IIT research parks in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof, location-wise;

(c) whether a number of State Governments have requested the Central Government for setting up of such parks;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the action taken by Government in this regard?

(a) to (e): The Government does not propose to set up IIT research parks in the Country. However, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras has submitted a proposal to set up a research park adjacent to its campus.
