(a) whether the Government proposes to include coastal shipping as part of end-to-end logistics chain, integration of inland waterways with coastal roads and development of regional centers of coastal cargo across the country; and
(b) if so, the details and the present status thereof?

(a)&(b):Yes, Madam. Ministry of Shipping has prepared a vision for “Coastal Shipping, Tourism and Regional Development” which envisages increasing the share of Coastal/Inland Water Transport mode in the modal cargo mix, development of coastal shipping as part of an end to end logistic supply chain, integration of inland waterways with coastal routes, development of regional centres to generate cargo for coastal traffic and promotion of cruise tourism.
