(a) whether the Union Government has conducted any survey regarding the potential of the rugs industry in Shahjahanpur and Sitapur districts of Uttar Pradesh;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Union Government is making out any action plan to promote the rugs industry in the said districts; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

(c) & (d): Following schemes are implemented by the Government throughout the country for develop- ment of handicraft sector, including the said districts:-
(i) Baba Saheb Hastshilp Vikas Yojana (AHVY); (ii) Design and technology upgradation scheme (iii) Marketing support and services scheme (iv) Research and development scheme (v) Human and resource development scheme (vi) Handicrafts artisans comprehensive welfare scheme for Handicrafts Artisans and (vii) Infrastructure and technology development schemeBesides these, for comprehensive development and Promotion of Handicrafts, the Government is also under taking Mega Cluster Projects at Moradabad, Mirzapur Bhadohi, Bareilly and Lucknow in the state of Uttar Pradesh.Download PDF Files
