Question : Pradhan Mantri Paridhan Rojgar Protsahan Yojana

(a) whether the Government has extended Pradhan Mantri Paridhan Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMPRPY) to the textile sector;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has prepared any progress report on PMPRPY;

(d) if so, the details thereof; and

(e) if not, whether Government is planning to prepare the report in near future and if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): Yes Madam. Under Pradhan Mantri Paridhan Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMPRPY), Ministry of Textiles will bear additional 3.67% share of the employer’s contribution of the Employers Provident Fund Scheme in addition to the 8.33% already covered under Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Protsahan Yojana (PMRPY) for all new employees of apparel and made-ups units enrolling in EPFO for the first three years of their employment.

(c) & (d): Yes Madam, the Government has allotted Rs.30 crores to the Ministry of Labour for FY 2016-17 and had made a provision of Rs. 200 crores for FY 2017-18. As on 19.05.2017, 492 number of units have been registered under the Pradhan Mantri Paridhan Rojgar Protsahan Yojana(PMPRPY) which is reported to be covering 1,82,400 new workers.
