MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS
(SHRI MANOJ SINHA)
(a) to (c) Indian Railways do not run trains on State-wise basis as Railway network and train operations run across State boundaries. However, in the Railway Budget 2014-15, 32 pairs of new train service were announced, which either originate or terminate in the State of Maharashtra. Out of these, 24 pairs of train service have been introduced and remaining 08 pairs of train service are ready to be introduced shortly after completion of necessary formalities. Further, in the Railway Budget 2015-16, no new train service was announced.
(d) & (e) No, Madam. At present, there is no such proposal. However, provision of stoppage is an ongoing process on Indian Railways subject to operational feasibility, traffic justification, commercial viability etc.
