(a) whether the Railways have leased the Railway land to railway employees for farming purpose;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the zone-wise details works undertaken in this direction during the last three years and the
current year;
(d) the rate of which the said land was leased;
(e) the reasons for leasing out the Railway land to railway employees only; and
(f) the reaction of the Railways thereto?

(a): No, Sir. Railways have no such policy to allot Railway land on lease basis to Railway
employees for farming purposes. However, there is a policy of licensing of railway land, not
required for Railway`s own use in the immediate future, to Railway employees belonging to Group
`C` and `D` in identified urban areas for cultivation under Grow More Food Scheme to prevent
encroachment of its valuable land.
