(a) whether the Government have drawnup any scheme to promote research in the field of
agriculture;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) the sources of funding to meet the expenditure to be incurred on the implementation of the scheme; and
(d) the amount of funds to be received from each source?

(a) Yes, Sir.
(b) Besides, all the ongoing schemes/projects, which promote research in agriculture and
allied fields, some new initiatives are also drawn up within the existing establishments to
promote research. These are: Network Programme on Insect Biosystematics; Network Project on
Transgenics; Network on Impact, Adaptation and Vulnerability of Indian Agriculture to Climate
Change; Network on Organic Farming and Veterinary Type Culture.
