(a) to (d) Against the estimated sewage generation of 2953 Million Litres Per Day (MLD) from the 97 towns along main stem of river Ganga, the current sewage treatment capacity in the towns along river Ganga is 2232 mld, including 410 mld sewage treatment through East Kolkata Wetland. Further, projects for creation of 819 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) capacity are at advanced stages of completion. In addition, projects for creation of 731.5 MLD are under tendering process after approval.
Since May 2014, a total of 196 projects have been sanctioned under Namami Gange programme in the towns located along river Ganga. 77 projects have been sanctioned for municipal sewage management as per following state wise breakup:

In addition, 2 common effluent treatment plant (CETP) projects for industrial effluent management for Kanpur Tanneries cluster and Mathura Textile Processing industries cluster have been sanctioned.
Against the estimated municipal solid waste generation of 11,729 TPD from the 97 towns along river Ganga, the current installed solid waste processing capacity is 3,786 TPD and 51 projects for 3,058 TPD have been approved and under different stages of implementation as per the following state-wise details.
